Compatibility Information
R-448A is not a universal drop-in. A conversion assessment should cover compressor envelope, capacity, discharge temperature, lubricant, seals, expansion valves and control settings. Manufacturer approval should be obtained wherever required.
Professional Service and Charging Notes
Charge this zeotropic blend in the liquid phase and account for its temperature glide when setting superheat and subcooling. Remove the old refrigerant completely, replace required components, label the system and document the new charge.
Storage and Handling
- Store the cylinder upright, secured and in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
- Protect the cylinder from direct sunlight, excessive heat, physical damage and unauthorized access.
- Keep the valve cap or protective collar in place during storage and transportation.
- Use only tools, hoses, recovery equipment and personal protective equipment rated for this refrigerant and its pressure/safety class.
- Never intentionally vent refrigerant. Recover and manage refrigerant in accordance with applicable federal, state and local rules.
EPA Purchase Verification
Purchaser requirement: EPA Section 608 certification or qualifying employer/resale documentation.
Before fulfillment, Cool Gas Depot must verify the applicable technician certification, employer authorization or resale documentation and retain the required online-sales records. Orders may be placed on hold or cancelled when acceptable documentation is not provided.
Hazardous-Material Shipping
This product is a regulated refrigerant/compressed gas and cannot be shipped as an ordinary parcel. Availability, destination eligibility, carrier acceptance, approved packaging and any required hazardous-material fees must be confirmed before fulfillment. Delivery dates are estimates until the order passes compliance and carrier review.
Shipping, Returns and Cancellations
- Shipping area: United States destinations permitted by the carrier and applicable regulations.
- Shipping charge: Free standard shipping on eligible orders.
- Processing: Normally 1–2 business days after payment, inventory and purchaser-documentation review.
- Estimated delivery: Normally 3–7 business days after dispatch. Hazardous-material routing, weather, remote destinations and carrier controls may extend delivery.
- Returns: Contact Cool Gas Depot within 30 days. Only unopened, unused and factory-sealed cylinders are eligible, subject to authorization and carrier/hazardous-material restrictions. Approved return shipping is provided at no cost. Never send a refrigerant cylinder back without written instructions.
- Cancellations: An order may be cancelled before shipment. After carrier acceptance, the approved return process applies.
